ISOTOPE
Something has been living beneath the surface.
ISOTOPE is one of the most ambitious markers we have produced — combining CNC machining, laser engraving, individually fitted metal inlays and hand-poured epoxy resin.
Machined from solid stainless steel, each marker features a deeply recessed toxic lake surrounding a separately produced brass specimen. Beneath the translucent resin sits a copper insert, partially obscured below the surface and revealed differently as the light moves across the marker.
The reverse is CNC machined with an asymmetric, three-level topographic pattern before being individually numbered and laser marked.
The resin is poured by hand using, individually pigmented for ISOTOPE and allowed to cure before the entire surface is progressively finished and polished.
No two resin pours are completely identical. Small variations in colour, depth and the way the submerged details appear are inherent to the process and make every ISOTOPE slightly different.
