Tri-Mech is a study in layered geometry, mechanical depth, and controlled contrast.
Machined from 6 mm solid brass stock, the form is built across multiple planes, stepping down through the body rather than relying on surface engraving alone. The triangular footprint isn’t decorative — it provides natural alignment on the green, sitting square and deliberate when placed behind the ball.
At the front, copper and stainless inlays introduce material contrast and depth. The copper drops aggressively into the body, creating an extreme visual step that exaggerates the sense of verticality. This stepped language was inspired by rice paddies observed on a recent trip through South-East Asia — terraced, functional, and shaped by process rather than ornament.
The stainless inlay is a cropped, enlarged interpretation of the Omen “O”, intentionally broken by the edge of the marker. Within it, the Omen Eye reveals deep mechanical engraving: bezels, gears, and radial elements cut hard into the surface rather than suggested. This is not a graphic treatment — it’s structural, with depth you can feel under the thumb.
The reverse features a stainless steel build plate inlay, treated as an industrial component rather than decoration. Its geometry is restrained and purposeful, reinforcing the object’s mechanical identity. Each piece is marked with its build number via edge engraving, paired opposite the OMEN mark. The third edge is left clean.
Before finishing, the brass body is blackened, then carefully brushed back to expose the high points and edges. The piece is sealed with Renaissance Wax, preserving contrast while allowing the brass to age naturally with handling.
At 32 mm across the widest point and weighing a substantial 36 g, Tri-Mech has real presence in hand. It’s dense, grounded, and unapologetically solid — designed to be used, handled, and carried, not kept pristine.
Only 15 pieces have been made.
Once this build is complete, the design will not be repeated in this form.
